Janice Williams holds a B.A. in Psychology and Math from Duke University and an Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina. She has applied her credentials and experience in human relations training and management to extensive work in the areas of crisis intervention counseling, mediation/conflict resolution, diversity management, team building and effective interpersonal communication.
Ms. Williams has served a co-trainer at the Durham Dispute Settlement Center, providing mediation services as well as mediator training, and developed multiculturalism workshops for Durham County Social Services focusing on racism, sexism, and classism within the functions and roles of various professions. She has designed and conducted workshops to address behavior modification, build parenting skills and improve the communication effectiveness of foster and adoptive parents for Durham County, North Carolina.
Ms. Williams has served as a C&M facilitator for more than 25 years, using her skill to create safe environments where client-participants can collaboratively explore strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as a basis to create strategic action plans which advance change initiatives.
